For today's posting, I want you to comment on this post. I have the opportunity to procure some FLIP HD video cameras, but I need some good ideas for their use. Please make a suggestion as to how we could use the cameras either in class or for a class project. If you haven't seen one before, they are pretty neat. You simply film, then upload directly to your computer. No special software or cables required. I used them last year to record speeches and war literature projects. I need some new ideas this year so give me whatever you have, please. I am especially intersted in any web 2.0 applications. Think. Think. Think. Also, please let me know if you have a Facebook account. I would like to try something.

I think we should work in groups to make a documentary or a news broadcasting. The topics that we film these on should be really weird/strange so it's more of a challenge (for ex. a documentary on spaghetti or a news broadcasting on a leprechaun invasion). That could be interesting...
Maybe we could video blog with the Flip video cameras, about a certain topic and upload them on youtube, and embed them into our bloggers.

In all honesty, I have no idea what we should do with them. In fact, I'd rather not use them at all. If it comes down to it, I'll handle the camera, that's about it.
Similar idea to Holly but then upload it to youtube or something to that extent. Or maybe not a documentary but something complete random and off topic. I think the use for a camera without the need for any other software or anything would make it a lot easier for students who aren't overly technologically advanced to have no problems with uploading. Anyways as for some actual ideas, I think we could either document a day in the life of [insert name here] or have some sort of movie type thing. By movie type thing I mean just some sort of commercial or something like that.
well its obvious that we could use the camaras to show everyone that u really are the best teacher ever. we could post the video so that other teachers can see your teaching tactics and they could possibly learn from the ways that u teach. that way the teachers may become better at the subject they teach
I really don't know maybe we can find something creative to do with them. Like tape our class doing some fun and interesting activity but i don't have any ideas of what that would be.
Honestly we could use them to take pictures or film great moments or weird moments with the class mates and at the end of the year make a huge photo album and get everyone to sign it or a dvd with funny moments. just make copies of it for that class so they have fun memories :)
Well i dont know much about digital cameras and all that shnazy stuff but it seems like youve got it under control professor krieger! if i must give one idea i guess it would be maybe a skit night something like that
Maybe we could make a video for the senior class of fun things we do throughout the year and give it out to the seniors at the end of the year.
I agree with Nicole and Steph. I'm all for preserving memories :-)

I'm actually not sure what we should do. I'll participate in whatever the decision is, but try to pick something fun, nothing serious...
i think you should give one to me... i need one.... and its my bday woot woot i can legally take up smoking if i want! if you dont give it to me then i think a group project involving making a short film would be cool... what we make it about is up to you tho cuz it would hafta be relevant to whatever we are learning about and idk what we will be learning about
I think that the usage of the Flip HD cameras for class is a good idea. We could
use them to record and post the videos on our blogs. We could continue to use them in class
to record our projects and use them for presentations. We could use them for interviewing other
students and/or staff on their opinions on school issues or interview people for projects. Also,
we could use them to record class lectures and other things without having to take notes. I do have a facebook account. I think you can search my whole name, I have my school set to Union-Endicott High School, and add me as a friend and I'll accept it.
I agree with Nicole. It would be cool to have something from our senior that we could go back at look at and laugh :)

we could use the cameras to record a school day at union endicott high school from the perspectives of differnt people
we could make a sweet movie! like idk how its gunna be educational unless its like an infomercial thing but itd be mad fun right.

We could be able to use them in class to record activities that we might do.
Along with preserving memories of out senior year and then doing a collage of our favorite moments and presenting them to the class.
I like Holly's idea of documentary's and making it something that no one would usually choose. :)
i think we should use them as a project to express ourselves or a certain topic.
i like the idea of breaking off into groups and having to make some sort of random video and upload it to youtube..maybe a how-to video type thing... or a music video or something creative like that
just kidding, my favorite idea is to record stuff from being a senior..like 'the life of an '09 senior at UE' or something
I think we should use the video cameras in groups and create something like a music video for our favorite songs. That would prolly be pretty fun.
